Boy did I find out this week that not budgeting your money correctly can get you into a financial bind. It didn’t help that I had an unauthorized transaction happen as well and it took $25 out of my account that I wasn’t expecting. I know at the beginning of the month I have several automatic monthly charges. This month along with using Afterpay I got hit with more than I was thinking. Combined with works electricity going out (whole area went dark for 4-6 hours at least) on Monday and I didn’t get my tips from credit cards because we couldn’t see them or access them. Plus after 1pm we had no business because we couldn’t cook or ring up food orders. So my Monday money I was really counting on went down the drain.
So now I have an Afterpay transaction hitting my account and my last Beautylish payment coming out and I am in the negative. This is why I just cancelled all my beauty subscriptions and deleted a lot of my short cuts to makeup, skincare and haircare stuff. I have plenty of stuff.
But I do have a shopping disorder, for the past year or so it has been with makeup, skincare and haircare. But it has been other things before, and I usually get a handle on it for awhile and then something happens that starts it up again.
I know I have enough makeup to last me for several years or more, skincare for at least a year possibly and haircare for at least 3-4 months.
And what’s bad is that I have done a declutter and gave stuff to friends and then I think I need to replenish what I gave away or use it as an excuse to be able to buy more. Well that stops now. I am not going to say that I am not going to buy stuff or go on a no buy. I am going to give myself the permission to spend $25 a month of skincare, haircare or makeup. This includes if it is to replenish a product I want to rebuy and if it is a pricer item I need to roll over and not spend my money one month and use the previous month’s and current months together.
I know that I will get my account back on track after working today and all, just stressed and don’t want overage charges which I currently have when I checked at 3 am. (I was like I wish I got my paycheck a day earlier.) I have been so good about not getting those and keeping myself budgeted. This is the last month I will be receiving my beauty subscriptions because I did cancel all of them. I cancelled Allure last month. This month I cancelled FabFitFun, Boxy Charm Luxe, Ipsy. I have one last order coming from Shop Hush that I had placed two orders in the same week because of the big Spring Sale they have going on.
I am focusing on using my Stashes that I have, purging some more stuff. Using up stuff for my Makeup Certification course and other classes. Doing more Blog post, less time on some other social medias. I will post pics and stuff and try not to spend more than 20 minutes doing likes and stuff on there a day.
I am also going to cut my You Tube video watching down unless I am using it for down time while like at doctors appts, waiting son to get out of work and other times when I am stuck just waiting with nothing else. Or I may just read a book. I will watch them still, but I will be more selective on who I watch and how I spend my time.
